Channeling a formally French experience, the design for La Boheme goes beyond the expected and adds layers of the unexpected. French film through the lens of the 1950's and 60"s genre combine with satirical cartoons with dogs as the subject matter to celebrate a rich history of appreciation for both high and low comedy. The adventure at first seems serious but evolves in new directions when the details and varied references such as the famous "Umbrellas of Cherbourg" are brought into focus to complete the bewitching artifice of cinematic illusion.
