In the aftermath of hurricane Odile, ROAM was tasked with restoring and renovating Los Cabos’ beloved Esperanza Resort and imbuing it with a new sense of romance. We reevaluated every aspect of the design and discovered the true soul of the place through a connection to nature and the reinterpreted artisanship of Mexico. The new palette drawn from the natural surroundings was implemented with the colors of the sea, the sand and the cliffs informing all design decisions.

Traditional hand embroidery, ceramics and glass blowing arts were reinterpreted for a fresh new look with the natural palette described giving a soft and subtle feeling of barefoot luxury to all of the spaces deeply rooted in the history of the culture. Esperanza received the prestigious Gold Key Award for Excellence in Hospitality Design for Best Resort in 2016. Most recently, the resort has been named one of Travel + Leisure’s 2022 Top 25 Resort Hotels in Mexico, and Conde Nast Traveler's Readers Choice  Award Top 10 for 2023.
